LEADERSHIP

ORSU BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Portland is home to some of the most competitive rugby in the nation. The Oregon Sports Union, established in 1974, plays in West Linn, OR at our own field, The Oregon Rugby Center.

ORSU fields a DII, DIII, and a competitive men's 7’s team and a DI, and competitive women's 7’s teams, all sanctioned by USA Rugby. ORSU competes in the Pacific Northwest Rugby Union. We play a split season, meaning our fall season runs August through the beginning of November, and our spring season runs February through June.

The ORSU women’s team was the first women’s rugby team in Portland, established in 1994. After several years of success in the mid-2000’s, they were one of eight teams in the nation selected to form the WPL — Women’s Premier League — in 2007. After competing in the league for 3 years, the club was regulated back to DI, where they won a national championship in 2014. ORSU was excited to be offered another chance to compete in the WPL, and moved back up, while also forming a DII team in the process in 2015. We are proud to offer multiple levels of competition for players of all abilities, sizes, genders, and ages.
