ORSU Women+ will be competing in a PNRFU Division 1 and Division 2 Hybrid Spring Season with games against Seattle, The Mudhens, and Tacoma.

Women’s Rugby at ORSU is alive and growing fast! The team aims to coach and grow players of all levels. Looking to become an elite player and compete at the D1 level? Want to be more of a social player and play a game of rugby on Saturdays? You can do either with ORSU! We’re proud to be one of the only women’s programs in the Northwest who can offer multiple sides for players looking to play rugby at any level.

Come out for a practice and learn more about this great game! All you need for practice is some cleats (soccer cleats work great!), athletic clothes, and eventually a mouth guard.

We also have hired two new coaches for the 2023 Spring season.

Head Coach Bui Baravilala

* Bui has World Cup experience playing for the USA Eagles squad in the 2014 Sevens Series and some shifts as Captain for Team USA in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

* Bui has extensive coaching experience. Bui is currently Head Coach for the PNW Senior Selects Womxn and Head Coach at Reed College. Bui has previous experience successfully coaching the ORSU 7s program.

Assistant Coach Claire Lundy

* Claire Lundy has been a Jester since 2014, she was selected for the WPL All-Stars in 2017

* She got her start at UW in college and was selected for the Pac Coast grizzlies all star team in 2010-2012

* Lundy also played for the Seattle Mudhens and Saracens before coming to ORSU

* She also plays touch and competed with Team USA at the 2019 Touch World Cup in Malaysia

* Lundy has been the head coach of the Lewis and Clark rugby team since 2017 and is the PNW Selects Backs Coach

We are so grateful to welcome these amazing and powerful coaches to our team! We are excited to see what the season has in store for us!
