The ORSU Family has lost a great one.  Simon Priestley was a valued member and player during the 1990s for ORSU.  He passed on January 6 while playing the game he loved.

Please plan to attend the Celebration at Paddy’s, January 28 @ 2PM

There  will be a keg of Guinness, Irish cheeses and pastries and an Irish whiskey toast to start.  After that everyone will have to purchase food/drinks.

A memorial rugby scholarship fund for underpriviledged youth is being established in Simon’s name. Click the attached link, use the “Gift Designation” drop-down menu to select “In Memory of Simon Priestley”. Donations of any size will be appreicated.

Stay tuned for updates – location is subject to change. Join our ORSU facebook page to stay in the loop  and get the latest ORSU info!

Players from any/all clubs can play summer 7s with us and not affect your 15s registration for the fall. However to play in a 7s nationals qualifying tournament you must be CIPPed with ORSU. All are welcome and encouraged to come out!

A big shout-out to ORSU’s D1 Men’s team for their victory over the Portland Pigs to win the Pacific Northwest Championship! They will be facing San Francisco Golden Gate on May 6th to determine who will head to Nationals in Arizona.

Check out Rugby Today’s coverage

Also ORSU would like to give a shoutout to the ORSU D2 Women, who traveled light to playoffs in Bend with only 14 players (and lost another to a head knock not too far into the first match). ORSU battled through two full matches with tons of heart, guts, and teamwork. We didn’t get the Ws – but MORE importantly, the team took the pitch fearlessly and joyfully to leave it all out there, embodying the unbreakable spirit of this wonderful game we love. As always – you make us so proud to be Jesters! Congratulations to the D2 Women on a terrific season!!!
